The KHRC is a premier and flagship non-governmental human rights and governance institution in Africa that was founded in 1992 with a mission to foster human rights, democratic values, human dignity and social justice. They deal with human rights and social justice issues and situations at all levels in the society.

Their interventions are executed under four interdependent strategic objectives and thematic programs: Civil and Political Rights (CPR); Economic and Social Rights (ESR); Equality and Non-Discrimination (END) and Institutional Development and Sustainability (IDS). The KHRC is recognized for its long history, tenacity, consistency, expertise, and passion in providing technical and political leadership around the pertinent human rights and governance programs at all levels.
